Save The Date!

Friday, September 12th, 2008! Almost one year to the date after announcing our engagement to the world, Lex and I are proud to announce that we will be married on 09/12/08. After scouting out several locations in New Mexico, we finally decided that it would be much easier to plan a local wedding, and we found a place here in Utah that we both love. The ceremony and reception will be held at Millcreek Inn and you can check out more info on their website, here. The Inn is nestled in the beautiful Wasatch mountain range and will (hopefully) provide for a lovely outdoor, fall wedding.

If you are planning on attending, we've reserved a block of rooms at a nearby Marriott Residence Inn which has agreed to give us a group rates starting at $99.99 per night. Find out directions and booking info here. UPDATE: If you are planning on staying at the Marriott, there is some additional info you'll need when booking. Below are the room types, rates, and reservation codes:

Studio - $99.00, code = eskeska
One Bedroom Suite - $109.00, code = eskeskc
Two Bedroom Suite - $159.00, code = eskeskb

**NOTE: It has been brought to our attention that the codes were reversed for the 1/2 bedrooms. They should now hopefully be corrected, but please be sure to double check when you are making your reservation! Thanks!

For those of you traveling from out of town, you'll be flying into Salt Lake City International (Airport code "SLC"), and more info on the airport can be found here.

We're Engaged!

Our story:

Mark and Lex met by chance on St. Patrick ’s Day, March 17th, 2005 at the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in historic downtown Albuquerque, NM. They were out enjoying the festivities with their respective friends at a local bar and grill called Maloney’s when they randomly found themselves striking up conversation. There was an immediate connection, so the two exchanged phone numbers that night and made plans to meet up again that weekend. Throwing aside conventional dating wisdom, they met the very next night for salsa dancing at the Hilton, another popular Albuquerque social scene. Again, things went extremely well and the two made plans for their first dinner date that Sunday. Soon after, they began dating and “the rest is history”.

Mark and Alexia moved to Utah in 2007 after Mark was transferred to the area for work, and now reside in the city of Sandy, just south of Salt Lake City. They were engaged on August 7th, 2007 while on vacation in Honolulu, HI. Mark proposed to Alexia during a beautiful sunset on Waikiki Beach. She accepted and the couple plans to wed by Spring of 2009.

Lex's story:

Alexia was born in Denver, CO, but grew up in the small, northern New Mexico town of Springer. She attended Springer High and graduated in 1999. She moved to Albuquerque later that year to attend University of New Mexico as a finance undergrad. Lex also began working for the City of Albuquerque in the Department of Human resources as a student through a program offered at UNM. She accepted a position in the Department of Finance in 2003.

Mark's story:

Mark was born in Roseburg, Oregon and moved to California as a 3 year old. He grew up in Concord, CA, where he lived until graduating from Concord High School in 1995. He was accepted into the Electrical Engineering program at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in beautiful central CA. When he graduated from Cal Poly in 1999, Mark went to work for Agilent Technologies in Santa Clara, CA as an Applications Engineer in the Automated Test Group. In 2003, he accepted a contract position with Intel’s New Mexico Fab outside of Albuquerque, NM and left CA for the first time since he moved there from Oregon.
